Man of the People, Rock Star of the Hill
The photo that started it all: NY Times, “Obama Takes a Victory Lap” (5/9/2008).

Captured during Obama’s return to Capitol Hill after the North Carolina and Indiana primaries, the photo enraptured me. A kind friend pointed out some particularly good editorials from the week, and I, in return, frantically waved last Friday’s front page at her like a mad woman. Sure, I’d found Obama attractive before – elegant even – but now he radiated hotness (through both computer screen and newspaper!). I was hooked.
Another friend observed that since the media has finally started to accept him as the Democratic winner, Obama has looked increasingly good. He’s been hotly playing pool, hotly endorsed by John Edwards, and even hotly wearing goggles.
And when men have responded with, “You think Obama is hot?!,” I try to explain that it’s a Thinking Girl thing. So with all due respect and apologies to Michelle (fabulously beautiful in her own right), I am proud to present, “Obama, Hotly.” Witty captions welcome.

Dear wordygrl: I can’t believe men would ask you, “You think Obama is hot?” They are just playing with you, and are “haters.” It is only obvious how hot the man is. And it’s not my opinion, it is a fact. He is, simply put, genetically gifted. And he’s a pretty good politico so far, too. Great website, I will keep visiting!
